This paddle is perfect for those who like to have controlled shots and for those who play long points, having and intention of manipulating their opponents to make a mistake.

Strengths :

This paddle uses graphite which is ultra stiff and ultra light. This makes the paddle feel lighter. And most players who want control and touch will prefer this paddle over others. The graphite layer is added above the Nomex core thus adding a particular type of attributes to the pickleball paddle. A graphite paddle spreads the feel of the ball strike to a large part of the paddle. This helps to transfer this ball energy to the hands of the player. By this, the player is able to feel the ball in a better way that has hit his paddle face.

Ideal Weight :

The Onix Z5 Graphite weight falls in the medium category by weighing between 7.5-8.2 ounces. This paddle in comparison to composite paddles is lighter. This paddle is a good choice for players looking to have more control over their shots. The inner core made from Nomex helps in distributing the weight. This thus forms the sweet spot which players love.

Size :

This paddle’s body shape is wide. The paddle is oversized and its width helps beginners to get better at their game. The sweet spot is loved by professional players which is a result of the paddle’s wide body shape.

Specifications :

The medium grip of this paddle measures 4 ¼ inches.  It is available in 8 different colors. Players could choose from – Yellow, Blue, Black, Green, Red, Pink, Orange, and Purple. Its length is 15 3/4 inches and the width  8 inches. The cushioned grip and a handle similar to tennis rackets measures 5 inches. The Nomex core provides great power and also gives enough control.

Weather damages, paddle face scratches, small or minor indentations, and fading are also not covered. This warranty is not transferable. Only the original buyer can benefit from it.

Cons of the Onix Composite Z5 Pickleball Paddle

Weight :

This paddle is a bit heavy for players suffering from injuries got while playing a sport.  The graphite paddle is lighter than it. Though the composite paddle offers more power, the proper utilization of this power depends on the player’s fitness.

Power :

Players could lose control while enjoying the extra power that this paddle offers. The ball bounces unpredictably at times because of the paddle’s graphite face and Nomex core.

Noise :

This composite paddle makes a lot of noise because it doesn’t use the technology needed to dampen the noise. All Nomex paddles face this same problem.

Look :

This is not a stylish, pretty looking paddle. Manufacturers have printed their website details and phone number on the paddle. This could have been avoided.

Conclusion

Onix Z5 Graphite paddles are supposed to be one of the best in the pickleball industry. Its pricing and quality are just perfect. Players of any level can play with it.
